About Us
Nile Training Centre (NTC)
Nile Training Centre is committed to making modern fertility service available for all couples nationwide through comprehensive modules of theoretical and hands on tracing courses for both clinicians and embryologists.
Worldwide the prevalence of infertility and childlessness is similar in all societies and tends to remain unchanged. Current epidemiological evidence suggests that 15% of couples will experience infertility and in half of this number the problem will remain unresolved. Clearly infertility is a common problem, affecting perhaps one couple in six, the majority of whom now seek medical care. The management of subfertile couples and the development of assisted reproductive techniques (ART) needs a multidisciplinary approach and requires specialist training in several diverse disciplines such as endocrinology, andrology, reproductive ultrasonography including procedures, reproductive surgery, reproductive biology, genetics, fertility nursing, early pregnancy complications and psychology of both partners.
Educational objectives and requirements for training in these subspecialist areas have been defined and put together in a syllabus designed by the faculty of Nile Training Centre to meet the theoretical and practical requirements for training in Human Reproduction and Embryology.
Our courses provide an avenue for both scientists and clinicians to enter the growing field of human reproduction and an opportunity for those already familiar with this area to gain greater experience and appreciation of this ever growing subspeciality.
NTC reproductive medicine training programme is an opportunity for all Infertility Specialists as well as general Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to enhance their technique in the diagnosis and treatment.
The Clinical Embryology curriculum includes a comprehensive training programme for all Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) with a view to producing high calibre embryologists. On completion of this course, candidates will have developed the specialised knowledge and practical skills needed to work in, and manage, human ART laboratories.
